In this class, we will move together with butoh imagery and a contemporary dance sensibility. We will practice modulating effort and control, gaining a deeper sense of embodiment and abandonment.
Madelyn Sher is a New York-based performer and choreographer. She is a member of Vangeline Theater and weaves butoh, contemporary dance, and theater together in her research and compositions. She finds interest in the rhythms of growth and decay. Madelyn holds an MFA in Choreography and Performance from Smith College.
Cancellations for all classes must be made 12 hours before the class start time. Students who do not attend the class will not receive any form of credit or exchange.
