WADE is proud to produce a five-day intensive Butoh Workshop with Vangeline in Florence, Italy, culminating in a site-specific performance in Agropoli. The workshop is produced alongside Dance HUB: Italy, a three-week summer intensive for international pre-professional and professional dancers ages 18 and up. All level butoh dancers are welcome to participate.
After spending one-week training 4 hours a day and soaking up the rich history of Florence, the Dance HUB: Italy participants will perform in Florence and travel together down to Agropoli on the Cilento Coast.
Butoh participants are welcome to join us in Agropoli for a second site-specific performance at no additional cost. Participants will also be able to attend exclusive lectures and screenings in coordination with the Agropoli Danza Festival (also produced by WADE) surrounding the topic of gender-based violence and discrimination through art and conversation. The focus of this festival is to work towards eliminating violence against women. The Agropoli Danza Festival 2023 will be a site-specific journey around the historic medieval and breathtaking natural sites of Agropoli.
